4 barrel rochester Quad

Purchased rebuilt Quadrajet for my 67 Holiday Coupe.It has the correct numbers and markings,but I can not get to stop popping and cutting out when I throttle or step on accelerator.
Seems to throttle better when in park,but cuts out when in gear and the popping shoots out from the primaries...no pwer or take off..Any suggestions............Thanks
