Kurt & George,
The 10-bolt P rear 40:13 is what I have on my ’67 442. I’ve been dealing with a local shop that works on rear ends trying to find parts. I’ll check out JD Race too.
Thanks

: First of all, in '67 a 10-bolt P rear is
: standard and the 12 bolt (12 bolt cover, 10
: bolt gears) O rear was optional.
: And the the 10-bolt P has 8.2 gears, and is
: not interchangeable with later 10 bolts.

: If its a 10 bolt,the parts are
: interchangable
: for a long time, car and pickup as long as
: its a gm 10 bolt,4x4 uses a differant
: spline, and I think your car is supposed to
: have a 12 bolt?

: I’m working on a ’67 442 with a 3.08 4:13
: GM
: 8.6" rear end. After opening it up I
: found a broken spider gear, but luckily
: nothing else was messed up. Does anyone
: know a good place to purchase a replacement
: gear? I was thinking that Eaton posi
: wouldn’t be a bad idea either. The rear end
: has ten bolts, but everything I read says it
: should have 12.
