My advice is to go with the Pertronix retrofit in place of your points. It's the simplest way by far, whereas the distributor & your timing remain intact. I went with an after-market HEI distributor and had a bit of trouble with the over-sized diameter. It almost didn't fit! Like (the other) Jim said, the Olds HEI does fit and work fine, but the Pertronix unit is fairly inexpensive and is a one hour retrofit. Good luck! Jim Ross, Jr.
