TH 400 Trans.

I bought a 67 Delmont 88 with a 425 ci and a turbo 400 trans to use as a donor for my 67 Cutlass. Since the 88 had the speedo gear on the left front wheel and not in the trans, is there a chance that one could be installed in this trans? On the side of it there is a "delete" plate that looks like a freeze out plug, but I dont know if the shaft is made for the gear. Can anyone help with info. Thanks
