: Help me solve what is to me a mystery. On the
: machined pad at the end of a C head I have
: is stamped "P 103742". It's where
: the engine ID should be on a 67. I
: understand only 67 C's were stamped there,
: but I can't find any reference to this
: "P" prefix code. Also,note there
: is no suffix letter and a six digit only
: series beginning with "1" instead
: of "2". Does anyone know what this
: ID designates?
:
The "P" prefix code in 67 would mean it came from a Delmont or Delta with a 2bbl carb. Any original paint on it would be red. Can't help you with the rest of the numbers. The "C" head was used on other models and other years. Could be from a different year than 67?
