It seems to me that just as we know in many cases Satan first suggests that we do not have what we were given by God to create a desire in us for what we already have. This might show up again within the temptation of Jesus by Satan who told Jesus that if He would bow to Satan that Satan would give Him all the kingdoms of the world – Jesus already owned all the kingdoms of the world having created all that was created, supposedly including all the kingdoms of the world.
And I smile at this thought now because as I recall from the earliest age I can remember anything at all, workers were constantly offering me a preacher position if I would give the workers everything I owned – while I, already being saved by inviting Jesus into my heart (in accord with Rev 3:20), already possessed and practiced a preaching position – even a priesthood position according to Scripture. I never thought this way at that time - just did my thing, but I never bit on the workers’ bate because I was at 14 years of age already doing just fine preaching the Bible quite effectively to the part time flower children (my friends on the beach, who RESPECTFULLY called me “a Jesus freak.”). But if this new thought has any truth to it, the workers not only lie a lot (just like their father), but copy Satan’s method of deception – take from you everything you have so you think you have nothing and hand you back an empty pot of rubbish to go spread around just like they do – if one is a very good 2x2 boy or girl (2x2 liar) however, eventually the top 2x2 liars might pay your way to the beach of Praslin - out of what they took out of your pocket so you could become a 2x2 preacher. They never did have anything to entice me with because at ten years of age God was already teaching me Himself with His word – But I had no choice at that age but to be in workers’ meetings (sleeping or goofing off from the convention tent every time I could get away with it).
