Here is my problem
The word "theology" in modern use is sometimes misleading - to me "theology" mans the study of the nature of God -- quite simply put, to understand that God has revealed himself in three 'persons', Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Second problem is the word "Epistles" in your post. To me Epistles meas "letters" and noting more. Applied to the New Testament, to me the Epistles are such as Paul's letters to the churches - nothing more clearly defined in using that word -- what "letters?" what "theology?"
The problem with the word "theology" today is that the word is used of any set of "beliefs" (that form any given "religion") Such that one might say that an Atheist has a "theology." thus it is a term that I need to be defined by the user or we are on different pages in any attempt to communicate with each other. Similarly the term "epistles" as used by your post bears some meaning that is not being understood by me -- so the problem here is MY problem for sure.
