I think it is about time that the public had some detail regarding the media reporting regarding 2x2ism at that time and in particular the flavor of the public reports regarding the child custody suit in Alberta that began in the Alberta Family court in 1997. One report after the judge in that court refused to hear evidence regarding the “religion” in 1997, driving the case up to the highest court in Alberta, reported in a manner that bordered amazed/ridicule that any lawyer would expect a court of law to rule on such a thing as a religious cult, and ‘sympathised’ in that report that now the highest court in Alberta inherited the ridiculous task that the Family court refused to hear.
It needs to be understood that the very first case of pedophilia that the book author heard of was in 1989 said to have taken place in Alaska. And although the evidence was substantial for that case in written ‘gossip’ from inside the 2x2 church of Alaska, because there was not charges, trials or convictions in that case, the author mentioned the gossip and concentrated more tangible cause for legal-court-concerns based on the fact that 2x2 ministers have no pre-ministry training or test, remain single for life, are worshipped by the common 2x2s, and are provided free board and room in the homes of 2x2s with children – a perfect set up for a pedophile. So by 1997, since the flood of convictions of 2x2 workers had not even begun, the author who was subpoenaed to the court on the Custody trial in the highest court in Alberta set for 1999 had no greater evidence of widespread pedophilia in the 2x2 ministry. But again in the telephone interview (was taped) the author had no better means of presenting anything about the danger 2x2 children live under than to repeat information regarding that perfect setup for pedophilia. The reporter used about five or six of the author’s words from the whole interview twisted to suggest that the author had low concerns that there was any danger to 2x2 children – publicly reported prior to the first court date in 1999, in complete keeping with earlier reports poo-pooing any lawyer who would attempt to force a court to assess a religious cult.
One witness on the stand testified he was a victim of molestation by a 2x2 worker. So now the court had the gossip of Alaska, the perfect setup for pedophilia in 2x2ism and actual testimony of a victim, in spite of the border ridicule of media reports of trying to get a court of law to declare 2x2ism a cult.
The child custody case in Alberta was predictably a loss in terms of protecting the children of that case. And it was a predictable loss of such child protecting by most of the witnesses of the prosecution because the lawyer of the prosecuting side was very poorly aware that most assessments of 2x2ism that determine it to be a cult do so on SOCIOLOGICAL basis alone – and sociologists do not even agree on sociology. The lawyer was not equipped only one witness who was trained in regard to what constitutes a theological cult, but of course the judge disallowed any such examination of “religion” in that high court trial too. And by the time the case got to starting date in 1999, the book author and many other witnesses saw the whole trial as one of the best court exposures of 2x2 secrets that had ever materialized. Witnesses were no longer expecting that the court would rule in favour of the children. And as some witnesses expected, the exposure of 2x2 secrets started a membership decline in 2x2ism during the trial right in the court room and spread across the globe. So even while the court did not judge 2x2ism a cult and awarded custody where the children would be exposed to pedophile workers, the case in Alberta ultimately protected 100s of children when the exodus began. And every 2x2 who attended that court case who did not walk out of 2x2ism in the court was excommunicated by the Overseer by 2003. And the book author has since said that the two children in the court case left in danger after it were nonetheless quite well protected by the vast attention within 2x2ism – few pedophiles would risk destruction of their nice little nest of kiddies by being stupid enough to molest those particular two children.
There is a long way to go, and the Royal Commission in Australia is one more significant huge step to child safety from all forms of child abuse that have existed within 2x2ism right from its founding.
I hope more victims will be encouraged to yell at the top of their lungs on boards like this one.
