If someone is disabled ("handicapped") and is robbed or beaten during a robbery, and supposedly does the will of God as this preacher states it, he/she would be thankful to be handicapped and beaten during a robbery.
The Biblical object of thankfulness is God and what God has done to save in dying on the cross, shedding his perfectly righteous blood on our behalf for our sins, not smiling at a robber and making believe to be thankful for being robbed. And again, I never saw a worker or common 2x2 that even looked happy, let alone thankful for God's gift of eternal life on his/her belief that Jesus Christ died on his/her behalf. On the Biblical gospel, even if beaten during a robbery and handicapped too, one could be thankful to God that if he/she died believing that God shed his own blood on his/her behalf, all, pain, suffering, tears and even handicap would be gone FOREVER for that person.
