“short thoughts on God,”
Now, because this particular site if the search link is clicked produces a bunch of stuff – I say again, “stuff,” including use of “signal lights” and similar ‘thology’, I will tell you why the quoted section from under the search link is the best definition in my opinion – the one word “short” within the quote seems to capsulate the whole of “micotheology” – i.e., “microtheology” is very short on theology (the study of who God is).
For those who want to read about the term, here is a link to a PDF file I found in one of the searches. The term perhaps best describes modern interpretations regarding “beliefs” of everything that is currently and secularly referred to as “Christian,” including what is called “liberal,” but says very little if anything about WHO God is. And as such, it now seems to me to be a very appropriate description of 2x2 teachings right through 2x2 history – 2x2ism intentionally avoided any identification of God right from the get-go.
IRVINE APPLIED AT A Bible College and he revealed the fact that his student application was denied – he said he “learned” by sitting outside the college, in spite of not being accepted as a student by the college administrators. So the idea that Irvine gained any Bible education at a Bible college at all is actually stretched right through building walls according to Irvine himself. And he thereafter carried indignant bitterness against Bible education, probably in retaliation for that college rejecting his student application – but never ever hinted at the reason the College rejected his application – which probably amounted to something like Irvine (with 6 years elementary schooling at best) not having prerequisite and basic education to have any chance of actually learning anything from the college courses. And the fact is that most colleges will allow anyone to sit in its course classroom IF THEY PAY the required tuition for the course - it is called "auditing a course."
Several of the first set of Irvine’s “workers” told of their Bible education experience, at least one of whom (Cooney I think) told specifically of being handed a textbook on theology, which he stated that if he had opened that textbook he would be “going to hell” just like the “clergy” of all churches (except 2x2ism).
So, even if my impression of “Micro Theology” from just a brief overview is presumptuous on my part, 2x2ism has always been very short on any identity of God whatsoever.
