Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
I find nothing about praise, communion,
song, fellowship, teaching and sharing any burdens and joy in those verses and found no others regarding what the gathering contained other than exhorting one another. This does not say a word against all those other common activities within our common church services - I happily attend church services and enjoy them - it simply provides the Scripture that instructs us to not neglect "assembling " (KJV) and the purpose Scripture gives behind "assembling," which have nothing to do with getting saved - remember that my post was intended to answer the question in the thread title.
Again then, according to Scripture, going to church or going into a church building has nothing to do with getting saved, it has everything to do with "exhorting one another." And that does not say that people do not get saved at or in a church - most do. It says that one can get saved ANYWHERE, any time in a gathering or all alone (except for God's presence in the saving process)
Even 2x2s can get saved in 2x2 meetings, not because of 2x2ism - IN SPITE of 2x2ism. How people are saved is made super-clear in ! Corinthians 15:3-4 and one can believe anywhere any time, not just in a church. Salvation is all God's work and He is everywhere at once. When one is saved by God, the Holy Spirit moves in (I could supply the Scriptures saying so) And with God the Holy Spirit then abiding inside a believer, what that believer DOES thereafter constitutes "praise, communion, song, fellowship, teaching and sharing any burdens and joy." And those will be done by a believer anywhere and any time, INCLUDING in a church gathering - these are the visible RESULTS of being saved and will be seen of believers in accord with the work of God inside, not the way to be saved. Some the Holy Spirit gives His teaching gift -- etc.
