Posted by F.Z. ANDERSDATTER on February 1, 2007, 8:09 pm There is confusion about who is who in America, in that when the real Gospel Friends and their workers come under attack, yet while they do not meet the criteria for 'cult' status, then those of us who do know, having thoroughly researched such, must write to you about such. First of all, in reading both the alleged website of the Friends, as well as your's, it becomes evident of what has possibly occured. First of all, there is a group of Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement people who, while looking somewhat like the Friends, in that they wear very conservative clothing, the women never wearing pants, their women keeping their hair long and usually in a bun on the back or top of their head, they not wearing make-up nor jewelry, even to the exclusion of wedding bands or rings, wearing long stockings, et cetera, it is these who have done housing construction for the various Friends, hence, perhaps, the mix-up. The Friends do wear wedding bands and rings and their hair is not always up in a bun on the back or the tops of their heads. They encourage those who have reached the age of reason to engage in dialogue and activities. Their children, who do attend public schools and universities, do not polarize in these settings. They engage in the fine arts, one of which is music and musical instruments. These people, unlike the others of the SDARM and it's various off-shoot brethren, are into professions of medicine and teaching and law enforcement and law, et cetera, with the majority of the Friends being successful in temporal life affairs and highly intelligent, though they do remain conservative, socially appropriate, are not coarse in conduct, et cetera. As for the other of the various SDA off-shoots, while they are not with law and such promoted within their group, the children, if attending public school, tend to polarize. Usually, they will try to send the children to one of their own schools and teach them trades, or, send them to a regular SDA organization school, particularly for higher education. When medical need arises, they prefer to use one of the SDA hospitals and staff. As far as women wearing dresses all of the time in either of the groups, which I think in the Friends such would be discouraged if not appropriate for skiing or outdoor activities, while the SDARM and other associated off-shoots would put the pants on under their dresses. Also, the Friends are not without a name, as that is what they are is Gospel Friends! And yes, they have workers and some of these workers, while going out two by two to minister and while being supported by their membership and having meetings in the various homes, are married! Some even having had children! Yes, they hold 'conventions' to replenish the spiritual needs of their people amidst a recreational environment. In addition, while the SDARM may adhere to strict vegetarian diets, the Friends do not. Yet, vegetarianism is not uncommon in various of the Jewish sects, as well as in the various Catholic sects, as are dress codes prevalent in the various of both Jewish and Catholic. About dresses and the reality that dress codes are given in the New Testament, allow me to expound upon that for one minute, please. In the Middle East, long robes that could be described as 'dresses', are worn by both males and females. What makes these robes or whatever they are called different from one sex and the other, is the way it folds in the front. On the male, it is folded so a concealed knife or sword can be drawn with the right hand. Since females have not always been considered to be in 'warrior' status, their robes folded with the fold so that the left hand would be able to be placed inside. That is the real difference. So, the western style of dress has not always been the only style of dress and attempting to label such as either male or female, in relation to Bible scriptures, becomes redundant. Also, about the long hair and head coverings. In the Middle East, like other equatorial areas, such as Africa. the weather temperatures can reach as high as 130*F. That means that a protective layer over the body, including the neck and face areas, is imperative to prevent what we know to be cancerous lesions and such. Also, they get sand storms like wild and for face coverings to be used as filters prevents silicosis from occuring. Become intelligent and truly informed prior to libeling and slandering good people and realize this, that for anything that is in the USA today, there are like groups in many of the mainstream religions, such as Judaism and Catholocism, who have groups within them who have not done anything differently. There is very little that is new under the sun in these times. Ask yourself how many of these good people whom you attack, support themselves and their families, if able-bodied! How many of them have criminal or other offender records? How many of them are with drug or alcohol records? You would find that it is virtually non-existent, except when others have created false profiles and false histories and engaged libel and slander and defamation. Ask yourself if you serve the cause of those who are anti-Zionist at the present time? Like with our First Americans, who fought one another so very much that they lost their land to foreigners, the religious world could find the same happen to them and this is for real. Encourage, while going after the real threats, such as those who use religion as a ruse to engage in political coups and such. I believe the Moonies were one such sect and who still exist. Find the groups who are diminishing the family by their lifestyle that is contrary to family unity and values and mores, then go after them, rather than good people who do not go out of their way to harm others and who reside peaceably in the community.
Dear Sir:
