When my daughter was a baby, we adjusted her crib so that one end of it was higher than the other- you know how you can raise the part that holds the mattress? We just put one end on a higher setting than the other, so her mattress was angled and that worked. As for feedings, we had her eat as much as she could on her own but finished the feeding with a feeding pump- we were also told not to make her eat for more than half an hour or it would wear her out and burn up more calories than she was taking in. It still took an hour to feed her, between the bottle and the feeding pump, but at least she wasn't wearing herself out and she was getting a full feeding. We also did gavage feeding for a while before they gave us the feeding pump but the feeding pump was much easier. |
: I have a son with pierre robin syndrome and
: cleft pallette! He is 9 weeks old and I have
: a sleeping question. I have been sleeping on
: the recliner with him on my chest for the
: past nine weeks. I have tried him in the
: cradle on his belly with no success. I am
: exhausted between his hour long
: feedings(with haberman) and sleeping in a
: recliner. Nervous about his breathing and
: reflux at night. Sleeps well in swing during
: day but nervous with that at night! Would
: like to try a wedge at night in cradle! How
: do your kids sleep the best? Would love any
: tips! Would love to try to get some sleep
: inbetween feedings! Any other babies take
: this long to eat! He is eating 3 ounces
: every 3 hours! I know speech told me to stop
: after a half hour but as a mom I want him to
: eat all he can! He is on the small side!
: Thanks in advance! Nice to have a message
: board to turn too.
