My daughter had a sphincter pharyngoplasty about a year and a half ago at age 8, after Radiesse injections and a pharyngeal augmentation that had only temporary results. But this one has really made a difference. It was hard at first because she snored and had a hard time getting used to having her palate close off against the back of her throat-almost like sleep apnea, but while she was awake. But now she's doing great and her nasality has improved SO much! I hope it helps your daughter too. Good luck!

: My son had the pharyngoplasty done twice. The
: first time wasn't quite tight enough and
: didn't produce the speech sounds they were
: looking for. The 2nd one was very tight and
: greatly improved his speech inteligibility.
: It was tough afterwards dealing with the
: sleeping/snoring afterwards. But that
: improved with time.
