Hi my name is Jimmy. I am 27 years old. I was born with PRS. My Dr said it was so extreme that I wouldn't survive. I never could suck a bottle or swallow food. Until.. I was 6 years old. I had alot of health problems from the day I was Born to now. As a child i was 2 Months early I wasn't expected to live those days. I was tube fed and heart issues. Mom and dad had a Dr from Russia Flown in to do the surgeries needed. I was at Mt Washington Hospital NICU for 9 Months. I had the palate Closed But had to have tube inserted in my stomach. The Dr said I wouldn't not be able to talk I was so bad that mom and family chose to take me off the Ventilator. I started to breath on my own. When I was strong enough they did the surgeries. But as the years when on I beat all the odd's To add to the pain I had clubbed feet. Ive had 13 Surgeries over the years. But I still have issue swallowing I Have to Drink large amounts of Liquid when eating food I have problems if im sick I can't vomit without having someone with me. If im sick which is very rare. But I still talk to my Dr I had when i was a little Kid. I't Made me stronger. He was only Pediatrics but after me He started to take adults after I turned 21. I have Beat the odds. But My one support line was my mom without her prayers and trust with a higher power I wouldn't be here today.But she passed away when i was 13 she lived 47 years with Pierre robin syndrome. I Didn't Find out until I read her letter to me. She kept it a secret. *I didn't want to tell you because I didn't want you mad at me. But right now you are mad at me for leaving* Sometimes Life isn't fair But we learn to manage and study PRS. To this day they are finding New ways to Heal and help. To the Young Kids Be strong .TO the babies Its a long road But when you make it You will feel later on in the years proud that you over came PRS. I Did it. You can. Oh Dont let the kids pick on you just because you look or talk or eat differently. Good Bless.
