My son had the pharyngoplasty done twice. The first time wasn't quite tight enough and didn't produce the speech sounds they were looking for. The 2nd one was very tight and greatly improved his speech inteligibility. It was tough afterwards dealing with the sleeping/snoring afterwards. But that improved with time.
