Hi Tanja, can I ask why a 2 nd distraction is not an option? Our son is due to undergo a 2 stage distraction in a few weeks time. He is 2 and has a trachy.

: Hello Lauren,
:
: Our son had a distraction when he was 3
: weeks old. But now at the age of 6 he still
: has severe obstructive sleep apnea. His
: addenoids and tonsils has been removed also.
: It did make things worse. To do a second
: distraction is not an option. He's on a
: c-pap while he's a sleep. The other solution
: for him would be a trach.
:
: Hope the tonsillectiomy is the solution for
: your daughter.
:
: Best regards

: Hi everyone! I was wondering if any families
: had children with PRS that did not have a
: jaw distraction until their later years. My
: daughter Abby is 5 now and was very recently
: diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep
: apnea. Her ENT is removing her tonsils in 2
: wks but said that if she is still
: obstructing that we need to see an
: orthopedic surgeon for her jaw. Her jaw
: looks beautiful compared to when she was
: smaller but I'm not too familiar with the
: process. Has anyone had this happen to them?
