jaw distraction at age 5

Hi everyone! I was wondering if any families had children with PRS that did not have a jaw distraction until their later years. My daughter Abby is 5 now and was very recently diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea. Her ENT is removing her tonsils in 2 wks but said that if she is still obstructing that we need to see an orthopedic surgeon for her jaw. Her jaw looks beautiful compared to when she was smaller but I'm not too familiar with the process. Has anyone had this happen to them?
