Hi Lucy,
Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. Emma had a trach at 2mo and gtube at 1mo. Trach was gone by age two and gtube by age 3. Her jaw never caught up before the surgery. Amazing she had surgery in March and everything came out in June she did amazing! You can tell a huge difference. They pulled it forward a little more than it needed to be so as she grows she will even out. She started eating a few days after surgery and has done well every since. Let me know what else I can answer for you. I have pictures from before, during and after.

: Hi Krista,
: How are you? Sorry to hear that your
: daughter had to go through jaw surgery but
: so glad to hear she's doing so much better.
:
: I'm a new mom with a 8 weeks old (corrected
: age) who has PRS. Her chin is severely
: recessed as per the Doctors but they have
: not given any timing on jaw distraction
: since she's so young. They said she'll
: definitely be getting it though.
:
: Did you daughter have any catch up growth?
: How much time did it take after the surgery
: for her chin to fully come forward? Before
: the surgery, was she able to eat / feed
: properly and all kinds of foods? Did she
: ever get a G-tube?
:
: Thank you in advance for sharing your
: experience.

: surgery this past March. Her chin was not
: growing and the distraction made a huge
: differnce. She is 5 yrs old and our options
: were this or possibly getting the trach
: back.
