We used the car bed for Ashley for the first couple of months until her breathing issues cleared up significantly and she was taken off her ng tube. We got ours (it is Cosco on I think)from the hospital (she was in the nicu for a week after birth and she could not be released to go home without the car bed). I think it cost us under 50 dollars. They also gave us a car seat challenge results form for insurance purposes if we wanted to try to recoup some of the cost from the ins. company.
Is your son still in the hospital? They will probably issue you one. We still have ours. Not sure how soon you need it but if you have trouble getting one post again and let me know. Good luck with your son, hoping he continues to improve
