Hi there,
I am the mother of 4 and only my 3rd child (5yr old Luke) had PRS. He has shown no sign of Sticklers thus far and is doing great. My advice would be to consult with a geneticist who is familiar with PRS and that may give you and your husband a better idea of the chances. We did that before having our 4th and it was helpful. Also, you will need to consult with a high risk specialist during your next pregnancy for more high level ultrasounds. I was glad we did because we were so relieved when we spotted a very distinct chin at 23 weeks. Good luck and God bless!

: My son is now four. He has had the
: distraction, no longer has g button but does
: have feeding issues still. Ureter repair,
: surgeries on his hands, feet, palate repair,
: etc and has a small optic nerve/wears
: glasses. He is healthy now but is still not
: speaking and is kind of week but is walking
: and limited climbing and is developementally
: delayed. We have had all the genetic
: testing which has not shown anything
: abnormal but obviously there is more than
: just a small jaw. Since he doesn't have an
: official "syndrome" the docs
: cannot give us any kind of prediction for
: reoccurrence. I have always wanted to have
: 2-3 children. We are not quite ready but
: hopefully in the next year or so will be
: trying for number 2. The way I look at is
: this, even if the next child were to have
: issues (I don't like the word "special
: needs"- personal hang up of mine) I
: would NEVER down the road wish that the
: child had never been born. And people with
: perfectly "normal" children have
: no guarantee that their next child will be
: "normal" either. So my thought
: process is that I'm not going to let
: "what if" dictate if we have
: another child or not. I can't say that I'm
: not worried about a future pregnancy but
: there are never any guarantees.... just my
: thoughts. Good Luck!

: Hello,
: Haley is over 2 and a half. She was born at
: 32 weeks with PRS. I have loved every
: minute of the sometimes trying journey. I
: would like to have another child. My
: husband is extremely worried that a second
: child might have PRS or something worse.
: Does anyone know statistics on PRS inside a
: family? The occurrence among siblings?
: Haley was genetic tested at after birth and
: showed genetic abnormalities and so far has
: had no other complications.
: Thank you,
: Haley's Mom
