I have a 17 year old son who was born in 1992 with Pierre Robin. He had a Trach for 11 mos, Cleft Palate Surgery, Several sets of ear tubes, surgery for Nasal speech etc. Sticklers was never mentioned but lo and behold 3 weeks ago my niece gave birth to a beautiful little girl who you guessed it, has Pierre Robin (a word I never wanted to hear again). If I had millions of dollars I would bet it all that it is Genetic!!!! My sister also had a Cleft Palate 46 years ago. One of her daughters (the mother of the baby who was just born0 has hearing issues in one ear and another daughter has eye issues. I think there has to be some connection. My son is awesome and if you didn't know any better you could never tell what all he went through as a baby. I woory about when the time comes for him to have children what will happen! I wish this site would have been around back then!! Good Job!! Mary Ann
