Hey Rachael...sorry you are having a rough time. I know we tend to worry so about our littles ones...especially our prs babies. Its hard not to analyze everything when you feel like you are living you life under a microscope. The snoring and observed apnea is def. concerning for sleep apnea. I know that Kate's plastic surgeon and ent wanted a sleep study 8-12wks post repair to make sure that she did not develop obstructive sleep apnea(osa) following repair. We weren't successful in getting the sleep study the first time around and are actually scheduled for our second attempt tomorrow night. I would suggest talking with his ent. I know that Kate had a lot of problems with chronic congestion until she had her tubes placed in her ears. Enlarged adenoids for sure could be the culprit in the sleep apnea as well as enlarged tonsils. If he is just having the snoring/apnea while sick with the congestion, it could just be that. Tonsils and adenoids will swell when you are sick. If he is having snoring regardless that could mean he is having apnea due to his palate being closed now. In any account, a trip to your ent is needed. They can take a look at his tonsils/adenoids and let you know what they think. Has he ever been on any type of allergy medication?? Just tossing that out there as an idea. I know that a daily dose of zyrtec really helped Kate's congestion prior to tube placement. Anways...sorry to ramble here...good luck.

: Hello yet again, I have another concern I
: wanted to run by you all. Brody has had
: nasal congestion on and off (mostly on) for
: about 2 months now. We took him in to the
: Pediatrician on Oct. 22 who diagnosed him
: with a sinus infection and gave him Amox.
: for 10 days. His congestion has actually
: worsened and more concerning is his very
: loud snoring and he is having apnea (stops
: breathing for a few secs then cries a little
: and back to sleep)I did a little online
: searching and was wondering if it may be
: Adenoiditis. Does anyone know if PRS
: children are at higher risk of having
: adenoid issues? Similar to cleft
: palate/middle ear related issues. Thanks
: again this message board is a sanity saver
