Hey Mindy...My daughter is only 19months,so i can't speak to the permanent teeth of prs kids, but i can to teeth in general. My eight year has lost most of her front teeth and gotten back the permanent teeth. They did look a little funny/crooked as they were coming in, but once all the way in they straightned out. It is probably going to be a wait/see kind of thing. My daughters baby teeth are now crowded on the bottom and she will probably have to have a lot of orthodontics done. My neice who is not prs affected also had a very significant overjet. She is ten now and has had a herbst appliance in place in preparation for braces. It is simply amazing at how much it has brought out her lower jaw in just months. It makes me hopeful that when my little one starts the orthodontics that they will be able to do do a lot with her overjet too and hopefully avoid a jaw distraction as a teenager. I know we worry, but i think it will be ok.

: Our son is now 7 and had isolated PRS as a
: baby until the age of 15 mo when he trach
: was removed...he never had jaw distraction
: and the jaw grew out on its own....our son
: is now developmentally perfect...all you see
: now is a tiny scar at the base of his neck
: from the trach as a baby...
: Our question is...he has lost his first
: tooth on the bottom and the
: "tooth" that is coming in looks a
: little "off"...have any of you had
: experiences where the permanent teeth aren't
: formed correctly??
: We figured if there were any problems w/
: teeth, this would have happened with no baby
: teeth forming at all...his baby teeth are
: formed perfectly....white w/ enamel filling
: up his mouth w/ no problem....this permanent
: tooth coming in seems too skinny and
: thin...(he lost the tooth yesterday)....
: any comments or help would be great!
