: hello, my son is 7 months now. when we brought
: him home he would not eat for me but he
: would eat for my husband. i think they get
: relaxed with mom. i took scissors and made
: the hole bigger. it helps alot cuz they dont
: have to suck so hard ya know? not too big
: though. and hold it straight out. not up or
: down out.hop this helps.did you get a
: swallowing test done yet?
this is my first time posting and I really need so much more help tan I need to be giving suggestions...BUT my daughter also has a g-tube and she spits up A LOT. Thickening er feed has helped it a bit....but we have to vent her sometimes before, during and after a feed. If she is breathign comfortably she is fine but if she's struggling - she swallows a ton of air. This also seems to be the reason she is not having any luck at botle feeding.
Attach an ope 60cc syringe to the bolus tubing (I'm assuming she has a Mic-Key) let teh air escap and let the stomach contents run back in when you are done.
Let em know if that helps....Madison is completely dependant on us venting her or she would vomit non stop....
