Every state is a little different. You need to call the medicaid place and just ask them. I did ask that question, but my daughter has other health issues covered by our state requirements. Sorry I am no help but just ask. Congrats on the palate repair.

: Hi everyone! My son is having his palate
: repaired at the end of this month. Prior to
: this, we have racked up ungodly amounts of
: medical bills as I'm sure the rest of you
: have. Luckily he qualified for Medicaid
: since he is currently considered
: "disabled". So anything our
: health insurance doesn't cover is picked up
: by the state. My question is, does anyone
: else have government assistance for medical
: bills? If so, are the kids still considered
: "disabled" after their palates are
: repaired? He doesn't have any other medical
: issues besides the cleft palate at the
: moment. I am just curious what kind of
: health insurance plan to sign up for next
: year (we are going through open enrollment)
: in case his Medicaid isn't renewed. After
: his palate is repaired, will we still have a
: ton of doctor visits???
