: Hey guys...its been a while since i posted a
: question on here. My Kate is now 18months
: old and doing really well. She is
: walking/playing/ feeding herself and
: generally a typical little toddler. Chunky
: monkey weighs in at 29lbs and is off the
: charts for her height(wonder where she could
: have gotten that one with her mommy being
: 6ft!!). She now has 16teeth and are a
: little crowded, but not bad. Her jaw has
: grown out nicely although she still has a
: pretty significant overjet per the dentist.
: My question now is about speech. Kate had
: about 9 "words" at 14months.
: Since she started walking about two months
: ago, she has really slacked off on her
: speech. She doesn't use any of her words
: anymore. We are going to get a speech
: consult tomorrow, but i am still really
: worried about it. She is appropriate
: otherwise, and i see no signs of autism or
: anything like that. I just can't understand
: what happened in the speech department. She
: babbles all day and points to things she
: wants, but no words. How old were your guys
: when they started talking?? Did any of you
: have a similar experience?? What helped your
: little ones start talking?? Thanks guys...

I was always worried about my little guy not talking much either. He finally started talking 3 or more word sentences this summer(he turned 2 in May) and now all he does is talk and never stops!!! He can pretty much say any and all words now. We still work with speech therepy to make sure his words don't get nasal sounding.
