Hi everyone! My son is having his palate repaired at the end of this month. Prior to this, we have racked up ungodly amounts of medical bills as I'm sure the rest of you have. Luckily he qualified for Medicaid since he is currently considered "disabled". So anything our health insurance doesn't cover is picked up by the state. My question is, does anyone else have government assistance for medical bills? If so, are the kids still considered "disabled" after their palates are repaired? He doesn't have any other medical issues besides the cleft palate at the moment. I am just curious what kind of health insurance plan to sign up for next year (we are going through open enrollment) in case his Medicaid isn't renewed. After his palate is repaired, will we still have a ton of doctor visits???
