Hey guys...its been a while since i posted a question on here. My Kate is now 18months old and doing really well. She is walking/playing/ feeding herself and generally a typical little toddler. Chunky monkey weighs in at 29lbs and is off the charts for her height(wonder where she could have gotten that one with her mommy being 6ft!!). She now has 16teeth and are a little crowded, but not bad. Her jaw has grown out nicely although she still has a pretty significant overjet per the dentist. My question now is about speech. Kate had about 9 "words" at 14months. Since she started walking about two months ago, she has really slacked off on her speech. She doesn't use any of her words anymore. We are going to get a speech consult tomorrow, but i am still really worried about it. She is appropriate otherwise, and i see no signs of autism or anything like that. I just can't understand what happened in the speech department. She babbles all day and points to things she wants, but no words. How old were your guys when they started talking?? Did any of you have a similar experience?? What helped your little ones start talking?? Thanks guys...
