Spoon Feeding

My daughter is 7 months old and was given the green light to start spoon feeding. I was told to let her push the food from the spoon. My biggest concern is Kaitlyn is still on a feeding pump. Do I feed her the cereal at new normal feeding times? Once she starts to take more cereal how do I know that she is not getting too much though her pump? If anyone has any suggestions please let me know also please share your experience.
