My 8 year old daughter has Pierre Robin, was born with cleft palate and also has fragile X syndrome.She has suffered with continual ear infections for a few years and has previously had a grommit fitted to her left ear which eventullay fell out.Previously she was under the Birmingham Childrens Hospital who signed her off as having good hearing about 3 years ago.
I took her back to the doctors yesterday after the ear infections returned and to cut a long story short i was told she needed an hearing aid in her left ear as she had lost 60% of her hearing in that ear.I was devastated by the news.
Is Pierre Robin contributory to her hearing loss as the doctor suggested to me or should i be worried as to further problems?
