Post-palate repair--swollen tongue

My daughter had her palate repaired 11 days ago and her tongue is EXTEMELY swollen. Her mouth is stretched to the max and her tongue is hanging out several inches. We were able to get a feeding tube in and she has a trach, so the immediate concerns of breathing and feeding are addressed. However, the swelling does not seems to be going down and I'm just wondering how many other parents have had exteme swelling. How long did the swelling take to go down. My daughter is extremely uncomfortable and her jaw is aching because she cannot close her mouth.
