Our daughter had her distraction done at 10 months. She was completly g-tube fed and had a trach at the time. She was in surgery for about an hour. She had the surgery done on Friday and we went home a few days later. I did the turning of the distractors at home. I am going to be honest and say that Bailee had quite a bit of pain. We also had issues with infections constantly around one of the distractors.
She was way behind physically when she had the surgery. However, she learned to sit up with assistance and began to army crawl during the 2 1/2 months she had the distractors in. Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions.
