I have not been on the site for a while but today is my son Casey's 4th birthday. He was born with severe PRS (has a clinical diagnosis of Sticklers) and had a TLA and Gtube at 3 days old. Like so many of you, my family and I struggled with the mental and physical exhaustion in those early days and months. I looked at him this morning and could not believe how much he has changed. I vividly remember saying to myself “I can’t wait until he can breath better…I can’t wait until he’s running around and causing trouble”. I’m happy to report that he is a very happy and active little boy who has overcome so much in his short life. I am so very proud of him and of all the other PRS babies/kids and their parents who "wade" through the massive amounts of medical information (we have all been there) and sacrifice so much. During those early days when Casey was born I enjoyed reading the stories of parents who had been through the same experiences and had a happy ending. I hope those of you who are just beginning your PRS journey know that there can be light at the end of that very dark tunnel.
Best Regards,
Tara
