My son was about a year and half when he had it done and it was a complete disaster as well. The child who always slept like a champ was up all night except for the occassional 10 minute power naps and he kept pulling everything off. They couldn't get any decent readings but were satisfied enough that we didn't have to redo it. THANK GOD!

: Hey guys...its me again. Kate had a modified
: barium swallow and sleep study ordered for
: 8wks post palate repair. She had these done
: yesterday. She passed her swallow study
: with flying colors. We went back to the
: hospital last night for her sleep
: study...what a joke!! She has never had one
: done, but i knew a little what to expect.
: Needless to say, this was a disaster. After
: nine hours of screaming and not being able
: to get the air flow sensor thing in her
: nose, I threw in the towel and went home.
: She didn't have any desats or obvious
: apneas, but the tech said without the air
: flow sensor, you couldn't really tell
: anything. This place usually doesn't do
: babies, wich i didn't find out until later.
: The tech was very nice and patient, but Kate
: was the youngest one she had done. I know a
: lot of you guys have kids that have had this
: done....have you had this much trouble, or
: is it just me? What did the air flow sensor
: look like that they used on your babies?
: This one looked like a nasal cannula...like
: for oxygen therapy. Anyways....i don't know
: if I want to try again or not....i know it
: is important. Thanks
