Hey Rachel,
My son is 18 months old and has had his mic-key for 17 months. We go camping a lot at the lake and were told to put Neosporin around the button then put a plastic coated 4x4 gauze pad over the button and tape it up with Coban or medical tape. I went the extra mile though like Susie and got my son a 1 piece swim suit with floaties in it just to be on the extra safe side lol.
