My son Dustyn will have a CT scan tomorrow to see if the reason his head is growing rather rapidly is caused by hydrocephalus. I am so nervous and frantically gathering all the info I can about it but still feel uneasy. This was discovered at his genetic apt last week. His exact measurement is 46.5 cm. I know that is high for his age (7 mos) but not sure if its always been in the higher percentile. They said it had taken a jump but i am so mad at myself for not recording that, although ive kept track of his weight and length all along. I do have his measurement at about 3 months he was 41.2 cm. I have noticed he outgrew his hats so fast and wears toddler size. But i dont think his head looks unusually large like some of the kids you'll see with hydrocephalus. It could just be a precaution and they want to make sure everything is ok, which i hope is the case.
Does anyone had info/experience on this, or how much of a jump is too much? Radiology says they will get the results and send them to genetics so who knows how long til I will know of any results.....ive had to wait all weekend and now probably another and im just hoping someone here has either been thru this or have noticed thier children also have had larger heads and nothing is wrong???
