Hi. Our speech therapist and GI doc wanted to see my son "eat more" before I cut back on his tube feeds. He was interested and would taste things but that was it. I finally decided on my own to cut his feeds in half as he was almost 3 and I had a gut feeling if he felt hunger he would eat. It worked. I sat him at the table with a video at first and got him to take bites and within 2 weeks he was completely off his tube feeds! I wish I tried this sooner. I had tried cutting out one feed in the past or going a whole day without tube feeding. But cutting his tube feeds in half continuously worked! As he ate more I just kept cutting out tube feeds. I know how frustrating it is listening to all the specialists. I know many are good and right on, but I believe my son would still be tube fed right now had I not tried what I did.
