My son also has a lot of tissue. It looks more like the floor of his mouth is raised or thick. Docs, therapist claim that he has a large tongue but I think the problem is that his tongue has no where to go because the tissue underneath and as a result does not close mouth very well and lets his tongue just hang out a little or he plays with his tongue a lot. His tongue also is odd in that he can turn his tongue to form a U shape without flipping it! He also produces a lot of saliva and has a lot of drooling. He can "gleek" several feet away. I think this may be a local kind of definition but "the use of ones saliva glands to shoot the saliva a credible disatnce" according to an urban dictionary on the internet. Linda
