Hello,
Our son with PRS has also got a lot of extra tissue under his tongue. Our speach therapist told us this normally should been removed directly after birth. But his doctors haven't done it because his tongue will fall more before his airways. He only had the jaw distraction.
When he's older we can let it remove, but it is not realy necessary. It can help for speach and for swallowing, but that's not guaranteed.
I hope I've helped you with my information
Kind regards
Tanja
