I am hoping to find some suggestions for sippy cups that have worked with your children (pre-palate repair), or techniques that helped your chidren to drink from them. My son is having his palate repaired early April and he needs to be off his bottle prior to the surgery (as per surgeon's request). He uses the haberman bottle presently and can drink milk from it on his own.
As for sippy cups, I have tried the Nubby sippy cup, but find he cannot create enough suction to get the milk out. I have also tried the Playtex (soft spout) cup, but again find he cannot create enough suction when the 'plug' is in, he can get milk without the 'plug' but it just becomes may too messy. I am trying not to go the cold turkey route, but am starting to feel his surgery date looming. My 2 older sons flat out refused to take milk from their sippy cups, so perhaps I should just offer water, but am nervous if I do he will not take the milk later on.
Any advice or bottle recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Cheryl
