A bronch is the best place to start. Hopefully it is just her tonsils or adenoids.

: my daughter was never trached or intubated,
: we didnt know she had prs until she was 2
: weeks old. We go to a Pulmonary dr, and we
: will do the bronch in the office with only
: numbing spray, I am not looking forward to
: this. The doctor also mentioned something
: about her adnoids or tonsils may be to big?

: I'm assuming your daughter is not trached.
: Was
: she intubated at anytime?? The intubation
: could have caused swelling or scarring in
: her airway, just enough to keep her
: desatting when she's sleeping. You mentioned
: your doctors, but are you talking about an
: ENT? If not, you should probably see one. Is
: her bronchoscopy in the office or OR? If
: she's sedated they'll get a good look at
: what her airway looks like while she's
: relaxed and asleep. The other thing is that
: with PRS kids, it doesn't matter what they
: look like on the outside (ie: growing
: normally, etc). Inside, their anatomy is
: different enough that comparisons to
: "typical" aren't accurate.
:
: Another thing could be tracheal or bronchial
: malacia.
:
: Good luck and let us know what happens.

: My daughter is 7 months old with no signs of
: improvement in her desats at night. She is
: still aspirating on thin liquids but is
: getting much better with thick and all other
: aspects of her are great(weight, motor
: skills, etc) 1/4 liter of oxygen does
: improve her o2, but our doctors dont
: understand why she hasnt gotten any better
: since she has grown. Any one have any
: experiences with this or comments. We are
: also scheduled for a bronchoscopy Dec 8.
