My son had the jaw distraction and we are so thankful he did. He had severe breathing and feeding issues. They did tell us that his jaw would grow, but it just kept getting worse. we got a second opinion and that dr. said it would not grow and the airway issues would keep getting worse. We are so grateful we had it done and did not have to go through him having a trach. A few days after he was off of the vent (after surgery) he was breathing at 100% and started feeding with the Pigeon bottle about 2 weeks later. Today absolutely no difficulties and you would never knew he has PRS. For us, the worst part of the surgery was seeing him on the vent, after that, it just got better every day. Good luck to you all!
