Hello Lori,
Congratulations with your baby boy. Our son, born with PRS. Here in Belgium we had the option to put a trach in or to have the distraction surgery. We chose for the distraction, because our doctors told us that he needed the opp anyway in the future. He was 3 weeks old when he had it done. Today he's 3 years old. His chin is ok now. He still has got severe airway and feeding problems. But like already mentioned every PRS is different. Good luck.
Kind regards
Tanja

: My son was just diagnosed with PRS. He is
: three weeks old and was born six weeks
: premature. His doctor is scheduling
: distraction surgery for Friday to open his
: airway and help with his feeding issues.
: Any advice on what to expect after the
: surgery? We are just starting to gather
: information on PRS and distraction. Any
: personal experiences you are willing to
: share would be much appreciated!
