HI, I am looking for any help I can get for an upcoming assmt. I am speech pathology student. I have a hypothetical case study of a child born with PRS, at 10 days old a PEG tube was inserted. At 6 wks the child was discharged home into the community. I am the speech path working with the child from here. The parents want to get the child onto oral feeding.
I wonder if perhaps, any families have a real story similar to this that they would like to share with me?? I very interested in this area of Speech Pathology, so any help I can get will not only help with the assmt but with my future career and other families I may be able to help.
Specific things I am interested in finding out about include:
* Speech and language assessment procedures administered
*dysphagia (swallowing) assessments administered
*results of your assessment procedures;
* the type and description of the swallowing problem
* Therapy activities and management plan (i.e what the Speech Pathologists involvement included.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and perhaps helping me out.
Kara
