Jackson could only eat stage 1 pureed food until his palate repair at around 12 months (complete cleft palate). After the repair I thought he was a toddler with molars so we should just go with the table foods he has been trying to eat off our plates for months. Big mistake! He had a lot of problems and was going backwards on his food intake, then we decided to start at the beginning and work forward very slowly through the stages (soft lumpy, chunkier, finger foods, etc.). This worked very well, I would suggest a slow progression through the stages,
Jennifer
