My son had to wear the arm restraints for 8 weeks after surgery. It was tough because he could take them off so at night I'd check on him only to find him sleeping peacefully with his thumb in his mouth. We had to use safety pins to keep them on and then he learned out to get long toys in his mouth by bending his wrist. I know we had a post about it in Dec so you might want to look for it. Good luck.
