We went to a doctor who does jaw distractions. He said that when a child has PR their jaws are smaller, sometimes the bottom jaw doesn't seem to get the message to grow so the rest of the face will grow, but the jaw won't grow at the same rate. In those cases they have to pull the jaw out. They break the jaw and put spacers in. The spacers would come out of the cheek and every day you would turn them so that they would push the jaw bones farther apart. Then they could be removed and the bone would grow in. We are really hoping to get this done, so that our son can get his trache out (the doctor said it might be the only way he can get it out).
I hope this info helped.
