Yes it is me :-) I am reading your posts with great interest because Michael's palate surgery date is approaching (it has been rescheduled to April 10th). Maybe Kate will eat better later when her palate heals completely and then will regain weight? 9I would think so).
Polycose is the mix of glucose polymers of varying length, it is added to formula/milk in different proportions, depending how many kcal/ounce you want (Michael had it to 26 kcal for a while). The peds have the recipes (or the nutritionist would ave them also). It is only a carbohydrate, so does not add protein, and overcomes the difficulty to for the processing by the kidneys. It was recommended by our pediatrician, but we could order only in bulk so now we have leftovers...
Do you think I could post this also on the Tracheostomy boards? I could not decide on which one to put it, because it is not directly trach-related...
