Have the doctors talked to your son about his children? What is the probability that his kids will have PRS? and if they do have it could they have it worse then he did? Does any of your siblings or your sons have the risk of being carriers?
I ask this because I had a submucas cleft palette and never diaginosed with anything else. Throughout my pregnancies (I have a healthy 2 yr old and a 10 mon old w/PRS) I told the doctors about my cleft palette and they said they would check after he was born. After my baby was born and diaginosed with PRS I'm wondering why the doctors didn't see this in my ultrasounds. Looking at the pictures you can see that his chin was very small. I guess I'm just lost in how PRS can effect my boys and nieces/nephew's children. My sister is pregnant now and the doctors have done a very detailed ultrasound, they even called the Cleft Palette Team into see if the baby has PRS. So far so good, I guess we'll find out in March when he makes his grand enterance.
